現在、日本では害獣指定されている鹿が年間約70万頭捕獲されています。その約1割はジビエ肉として食用・ペットフードとして活用されていますが、革に関してはほぼ100％近くが廃棄（焼却）処分されています。その処分費用は約20億円。税金が使われています。

「革のシルク」とも称されるこの鹿革を、何かに活かせないか——そんな想いから生まれたプロジェクトが、RESPECT FOR LIFE（命を最後まで大切に）です。

素材への敬意 — 鹿革という選択

RESPECT FOR LIFEは、「命への敬意」をブランドの根幹に置いています。私たちが選んだ素材は、日本古来から武具や装束に用いられてきた鹿革（ディアスキン）。しなやかで軽く、使うほどに手に馴染むその質感は、他の革には代えがたい魅力を持っています。

職人の手から生まれる一点もの

すべての製品は、熟練した職人の手によって丁寧に仕立てられています。型を使った量産ではなく、一つひとつの革の表情を見ながら裁断・縫製を行うため、同じものは二つとして存在しません。あなたの手元に届く製品は、世界にただ一つのものです。

In Japan, approximately 700,000 deer — designated as a pest species — are culled every year. Around 10% of them are utilized as venison for human consumption or pet food. However, nearly 100% of the hides are discarded and incinerated. The cost of this disposal amounts to approximately 2 billion yen — funded by taxpayers.

Could this deer leather, often called the "silk of leathers," be put to better use? That question gave birth to the project known as RESPECT FOR LIFE — honoring life, to its very last.

At the heart of RESPECT FOR LIFE lies a deep respect for life itself. The material we chose is deerskin — a leather used in Japan since ancient times for armor and ceremonial garments.
